Habari!

I pray you all are well as we begin winding down summer!

I have exciting news to share in addition to sharing the attached August Newsletter and some additional information about schools resuming.

Project 24 and Christ’s Care for Children: Kenya is moving into the social media world! We will have our own Facebook page with a launch date of September 1, 2020!
I plan to send the link on Monday, September 31, so be on the lookout!

As some of you already know, the Kenyan government has mandated all schools remain closed until January 1, 2021. What does that mean for the students of Project 24? We will continue to support the students as we have been doing since the pandemic began and the students were sent back to their care givers. The students and their families/care takers will continue to receive food/provisions at the beginning of each month and the ELCK leadership teams and or Project 24 site managers are visiting the students a second time as well. During these “wellness visits”, they are studying Bible passages, singing songs, praying and offering support to the extended families/care takers of the students. This is the first time that the leaders have had the opportunity to build this type of relationship with the extended families of the students. For some of the extended family members, this is the first time they are getting to know Jesus!

In addition, the ELCK leadership team is working with the Project 24 Director to organize scholastic studies and incorporate them during the interim period, September through December. The students will have to repeat the 2020 school year, beginning in January, upon returning to school.

In the meantime, pictures, additional newsletters and information will continue to be emailed and if you are a Facebook user, you’ll be able to join the Project 24 Facebook Page! Watch for that email on Monday!

Baraka kwako na kwa familia zako!
