Luther, never at a loss for words, said of the Pope of his day, that pretending to be Christ’s representative on earth he “shined like dirt in a lantern”.  What a picture.  Letting our light shine is a Biblical injunction designed so that men will see our good works and give glory to God.  If we have no light within us and that can only come from the Holy Spirit, our light is darkness and we fit into Luther’s descriptor.

Christmas is the season of light, and folks walking in darkness have seen a great light, on people in the shadow of death a light has dawned.  Arise and shine your light has dawned.  The glory of the Lord shined on the shepherds.  In Jesus is light and that light is the life of men.  Are you getting the picture?

Children of dust have a hard time generating light.  Those claimed and wrapped in the light of Christ can shine on even, and especially in the hard times.
