Marilyn Hiltel is the Minnesota North LWML President and graciously sent these pictures. The young women representatives are an important outreach of the LWML to help raise up another generation of women who focus on mission and ministry.
Debbie Larson was at the North Dakota Convention and the Minnesota North Convention as well. She may attend all the conventions as far as I know because she is the vice-president of Organizational Resources. for the LWML. She has been featured in this blog before as she was evacuated in the High Chateau fire in Colorado. Last I heard she is back home and wandering in the mountains like Ansel Adams.
Cynthia Khan serves as the director of Community Engagement of POBLO. She is actively involved in helping churches establish outreach strategies for immigrant and refugee populations. Cynthia also provides awareness training in Islam and outreach to Muslims and other non-Christian populations and manages POBLO’s women’s ministry. Born and raised in Pakistan and has lived in four countries, Cynthia has first-hand experience interacting with Muslims and people from other Eastern religions. She has a bachelor’s degree in education and psychology, Parish Lay Specialist training from Concordia University, and an English as a Second Language Trainer certification. Cynthia’s culturally diverse background has enabled her to develop novel ideas for cross-cultural grassroots community engagement that she is helping others to implement across the country. Cynthia conducts numerous workshops and has speaking engagements regularly.
POBLO has a statement of faith –
There is one Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7-8).
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. He is true God, begotten of the Father from eternity (John 14:6; 1:1).
All who trust in Jesus are saved by God’s grace, through faith in His sacrificial death (Romans 3:24).
The Gospel is the power of God to save all nations (Romans 1:16).
All people are loved by God (John 3:16).
All people should be given the opportunity to hear the Gospel message (Matthew 24:14).
Christians are called to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).
Christians are called to meet the physical needs of all people (Galatians 6:7-10).
POBLO is committed to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Confessions and Doctrine in every area of our ministry.
