Main Street Living North has been up and running for awhile now and from anecdotal evidence I can tell you that it has been well recieved.  I know folks that go to church and then go home and watch the taped service later.  Many people have told me that they love it and they really love the old hymns.  I am not sure how many people think about what goes into the production of this thing but just to mention a few you need to understand the liturgical season.  I was given the assignment for preaching on MSLN on January 5. 2020.  That is the 2nd Sunday of Christmas.  So there needs to be a list of hymns for the Christmas season.  When the filming starts there must be the proper altar colors for the season and the Pastor needs to have the proper colors on his robe.  There needs to be a transcript of the sermon so that the text can flow through the screen as the pastor preaches.  The set up at the church so the taping can take place is a big issue as well.  Here you see just some of the equipment and electronic stuff that has to be setup and ready to go.  The pastor is Dan Suelzle from Wittenberg chapel in Grand Forks and the guy messing with the equipment is Jayson Schaefer from Propellant Studios.

The motive force around a lot of this is Ken Koehler who is a kind of human dynamo.  He packs more energy into a day than most people do in a week.  He was been in charge of the Youth Ministry in the District back in the day.  He works tirelessly on Life issues and he has taken this task on as he does everything with a passion and excitement that is infectious.  Ken is a gift and the North Dakota District is blest.  Take the time to thank him if you meet him.  Minnesota North is partnering with this as well and so the logistics get to be really interesting.
