Al Collver the Director of Church relations for the LCMS sent this picture. He took this on a trip with Robert Lutz a parochial school teacher from Crookston and a man who has worked in South Sudan for years. There are so many opportunities for mercy work and mission outreach and new partnerships that the old “fields are white and harvest waiting ” line comes to mind right away. There are enormous problems as well but that is one of the reasons we do what we do. Partnerships are also essential. Project 24 has partnered with Christ Cares for Children in Kenya and they are having their state of the Project Forum on February 17.
About The Author
Rev. Bernhard Seter has been a Pastor in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod for over 42 years. He served on the Board of LCMS World Relief and Human Care for ten years and is now the Chairman of the Board of International Missions. He has been privileged to travel around the world and see the churches' mercy work in action. He is convinced it is not only what we are "compelled" to do because of Christ; it is what we have been baptized for. Christ's love compels us, constrains us, and sends us forth.
