trafficking
Human Trafficking is all over our news in ND. LCMS ND and LWML ND invite you to
attend a lunch workshop to educate church workers and lay members about human
trafficking and how to respond to the victims. This Witness, Mercy, Life Together
event scheduled for this Sat., April 11 at the Baymont Inn & Suites (Seven Seas
Hotel), Mandan, is for anyone and everyone in our ND District and in our
community...men and women. The day will begin with Bible Study led by District
President James Baneck followed by two wonderful speakers. One of the speakers,
Rebekah (Marcis) Grimm has had much experience working with sex trafficking
survivors and understands the issue on an international level. The other speaker,
Dawnya Underwood is the Asst. Dir. for Children's Services in Lutheran Immigration
and Refugee Service (LIRS). LIRS provides safety and protection to unaccompanied
refugee minors and unaccompanied alien children, helping them reunite with family
members already in U.S as soon as possible. There will be an ingathering of
Walmart gift cards or gas cards to be used by pastors in the "oil patch" and a free
will offering for mission mites. The day begins at 10:00 AM-2:45 PM, and the cost
is $10 and covers a delicious lunch. Please let Nikki Tyrrell
(tyrrells@ndsupernet.com <mailto:tyrrells@ndsupernet.com>) know immediately if you
plan to attend so she can count you in for lunch! (She needs a count by Tuesday.)
Registration info is on ndlwml website, ndlwml.org <http://ndlwml.org/>. Please
pray for this special event and come join us with a friend if at all possible!!
