Picture quality is not the greatest but ……….. Everything I read says that they should not be here at all. They look like mourning doves but they are bigger and they have a collar on the back of their neck. I thought they were ring necked doves when I first saw them but the ring neck are native to Africa and then I found the Eurasian Collared dove and I think that is what they are. They may have been pets that someone released but however they got here, they shouldn’t be here and they seem pretty happy and content to eat my food and drink my water. They shouldn’t be here but they fit right in and are fun to watch especially when they maneuver to get to the water. They must be a nesting pair and so I am waiting to see if they stick around and we get to see a brood of little ones this spring.
