So between Reformation and All Saints I had the funeral for Donna Niemann and tomorrow I have another funeral. The memory of funerals past and the connection with the Jordan River and the promised land for the Israelite and the popular culture in poem and music of the Jordan crossing meaning crossing from death to life is ubiquitous. 8 years ago on my birthday I put this song on a blog about Veterans Day and my memories of the members of my family who had served and have crossed the Jordan and rejoice in the presence of Christ.
