chaos1Christian life is lived on the borderline between the age where God works,  not in a salvific way, but to keep creation from tumbling into complete chaos and the age to come through faith. How is that working for you?  Governments, the Kingdom of God’s left hand s meant to hold the chaos at bay.  What happens when the governments themselves are the source of the chaos?

Paul’s letter to Timothy, the second one has an interesting image.  People with itching ears heaping up teachers to teach them what they want to hear, but Timothy is supposed to “keep his head”.  That is tough to do when others are trying to take it off.

Think of that image of folks heaping up teachers who yammer at them and everyone is talking but no one really listens, and in the midst of that Timothy has to preach the Word.  That is all he is to do and all he needs, and really all he needs.
