Immanuel GFImmanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks gave me the privilege of preaching for their Mission Festival and I was honored to be given the chance to speak about the LCMS mission and mercy work around the world.  It had the great opportunity to tell them about the progress made in doubling the number of missionaries that we have sent and also to try and get folks to understand that with each missionary there is a corresponding need to support services at home and project support abroad.

I preached on the Gospel Lesson from Luke 13 where Jesus says “unless you also repent you too will surely perish”.  The concept of Paul’s assertion that all did perish when Jesus died on the Cross and all sins have been paid for and covered when Christ poured out His blood on the Cross makes for a huge mission and mercy impetus.

Immanuel’s new Pastor Rev. Dan Voth was wonderful and very “tech” savvy and I was thankful to meet him.  Pastor Fenske once again was very kind and preached in my churches and those churches appreciate him very much.

They dedicated their offering to Project 24 and we thank the whole congregation and the elders and the choirs and everyone.
